Book Online

You can book a standard appointment with one of our doctors online using HotDoc, or by calling our reception team. Online bookings are available 24/7 and are the quickest way to see what appointment times are currently available.

Urgent or emergency care

Do not use online bookings in an emergency. If you have chest pain, trouble breathing, severe bleeding, sudden weakness, or any rapidly worsening symptoms, please call 000 immediately or go to the nearest emergency department.
For urgent but non-life-threatening problems when the practice is closed, please contact an appropriate after-hours service or attend your nearest emergency department.

Book online with HotDoc

Use the booking form below to make an appointment with Macksville Medical Centre. Online bookings via HotDoc are primarily intended for existing patients. Where possible, please select your usual treating practitioner, then choose the appointment type and time that suits you and follow the prompts to confirm your details.
New patient appointments are subject to practitioner availability. If you are unable to find a suitable appointment, please contact reception and our team will be happy to assist you.

Important information about online bookings

Online bookings are suitable for most routine appointments. This includes standard GP consultations, follow-up appointments, and some repeat prescription or referral appointments where it is clinically appropriate.

Please contact reception by phone if you require a long consultation for complex or multiple concerns. You should also phone reception if you are arranging a procedure such as a minor operation, skin excision, or other in-room procedure.

Some appointment types cannot be booked online. Please call the practice if you need a care plan, health assessment, driving medical, pre-employment medical, or insurance medical, or if you are booking on behalf of a patient with complex needs who may require extra time or support.

If you are unsure which appointment type to select, our reception team will help you choose the most appropriate booking and ensure enough time is allocated.

New patients

To help ensure timely access to care, Macksville Medical Centre will only welcome new patients if our practitioners have the capacity to do so.

If you are attending the practice for the first time, please arrive a little earlier to complete any required registration paperwork, or complete any digital forms sent via HotDoc prior to your appointment.

Please remember to bring your Medicare card, any concession cards, a list of your current medications, and any relevant letters or test results. If you are unable to find a suitable appointment type as a new patient, please contact reception and our team will be happy to assist you.

Changing or cancelling an appointment

If you need to change or cancel your appointment, you may be able to manage your booking through the HotDoc app or via the confirmation email or SMS sent to you. If you are unable to do so, please contact reception as early as possible so that your appointment time can be offered to another patient who may need it. Please note that late cancellations or failure to attend an appointment may incur a fee in line with our practice policy.

Macksville Medical Centre is a private general practice and fees may apply for some consultations and services. For current information about fees, Medicare rebates, and any concession or bulk-billing arrangements, please refer to our Fees information on the website or contact our reception team.
